Located at the Old School (mount sophia), Osage gallery is one seriously fine art gallery. It is double volumed at the rear and has an odd 2nd level platform gallery which, I'm imagining, is quite an exciting space when viewed from the top. I am so glad that I went for their Siren exhibition because it totally blew my mind. The artists who exhibited were mainly from Hong Kong (really good ones too!). Siren is about their re-presentation of W. B. Yeats' middle period epic poem Byzantium. Additional music was written specifically for this Singapore production of Siren. I am bumped out that I missed their opening cos that was when our local musicians performed that sound piece along with an improvised performance. Would have been gorgeous to watch. I also found out that Osage has a branch gallery in Shanghai, at Duolun Road - near my 1st apartment! I am in full regret that I didn't check out Duolun district. Sighs. Anyway, I spent Saturday doing very 'cultural' things with Cheryl (Austen Chan's sister..!). We nearly watched the Butterfly Lovers at the Esplanade! Except I was too cheap to pay 68 bucks for it ...
This is me walking on Christopher Lau's installation. I could not resist myself. I did this secretly.
Samson Young's sound installation was really smart and delightful!
