In another last min decision, i just caught detroit metal city, and i have to say.. i think its probably the best japanese movie ive ever seen! :D i have to clarify that i havent seen very many japanese films, but usually they always seem to fail in some way.
the characters in this movie, though - their outfits, the places, the graphics were so pretty to watch, and their lines were so laughable from the start til the end.
Some tidbits:
1) Gene Simmons had a part in it, but i guess for the sake of the storyline, they had to make him seem kindof uncool and kinda awkward hehehe. Even Family guy had a much better cameo act from him! Which was a slight bit of a let-down but it also made the show alot funnier :D Jjjuust.. look at him here :|
2) Ok it wasnt listed that the main character's favourite genre in music is twee (B&S sorts :D) but it was in general some sort of happy bubblegum indie music, which in any case seemed like such an enemy. Plus i think the show really got it right :D Haha i really liked that!
3) There was a time last week when me and Shah stayed in school and were tired and bored out of our minds, so we did this little shaking/swaying dance routine in the washroom and they had a similar scene!!
4) Most of ALL! i really liked that they cast the L actor in this movie. His lead role in the L movie, was so liveless :|.. Well he was really good here!
In general many things of the show were so ridiculous but yet worked so well! :) (like the bad metal makeup snigger) Shah, the BIG IN JAPAN anime fan, has been asking me to watch this with her since 2 weeks ago :|.. now i have to apologise to her and tell her abt that scene! hehe. i hope i didnt spoil it for anyone whos gonna watch it.. i didn't say that much oops.. no more blabbering argh!

Charlie Printworks
My printing skills have improved a bit since last year. It has taken me a long time to really get it together with the lightbox method that that person explained to me at the Tylerprint works. I'm kind of more into the idea of blankets than t-shirts at the moment. I stuck the scraps i printed in singapore a couple of months ago - that's what that grey thing is I'm holding. I guess I like the way patchwork things and quilts are a bit like stories. I like the idea that you can wrap yourself in them. When i was a boy i had a blanket for my bed and my mum used to sew badges onto the it. The badges related to places i had been, new swimming grades I had achieved and cub badges. It was a very cool thing. That blanket was my life and I slept under it - before facebook this is what people had - blankets with badges on them. Like if somebody could work out a way to commercially manufacture blankets out of people's facebook profiles they'd make a mint. Maybe that's what I should do. I'm trying to make one for myself at the moment which is what those yellow panels are. Maybe I should do your panels next. By the way, I am still acutely aware I still haven't made the sodding lemmings t-shirt. I'm such a loser.
If you are from Singapore and you live in London and you're reading this please email me. Although, I realise that on the basis of reading this you could be forgiven for thinking I am a feak. But I am, I guess.

Battles
In some sort of last min decision, me, and my tiredness went to watch Battles at esplanade just now with Thomaho (of Buzzinsheep fame) and..
1)I bumped into Lemming-D who was there too!

impending doom (i hope not)
i lost my ext hdd..
my favourite one that i use with all my stuff inside.
i dont keep photos and music in my laptop cos it takes up space.. so u know theyre all in there :(.
im trying to console myself cos i have copies of the most impt things like portfolio, holiday photos in other places. but still some percentage of my work is gone.. and the photos of some events (jc's wedding, me trailing jessica, MY CHINA PHOTOS etc.) are all gone i think.
and then i cant help but think that i might eventually think of something that i lost that is super terribly crucial :(
i better start work. havent done anythg today other than take cab to sch, run home and then back to sch again.

Going to UK next week..
TEARS AND CRIES AND WAILS!!! here's the long story.
Saturday
On sat, me and mdm frou decided to stay over in school to get work done for interim.
Sometime in the evening, my friend Jing (i dont know if he still reads lems!) called and asked if "i'm the friend who likes chinese music".. i said " no?? haha its not me! i only like one chinese singer!" and so he said, "oh i must've remembered wrongly then."
Anyway he doesnt listen to chinese music either but he somehow had tickets to this chinese entertainment awards thinglet that night at some new part of Marina. He said Show Luo was coming.. and some others he was not so sure. And i thought AYE it would be damn fun to go k-po, but then i thought work was more impt la :(.
Anyway later, i told mdm frou abt it, educating her who Show Luo was, etc and she surprisingly thought he was goodlooking and we had a good laugh. I tried to google the event, but i thought it was at the marina barrage, so i didnt get any results.
The next day
i saw the photo album on fbook that Jing was tagged in and it looked damn fun! They were so close to the stage, and his friend mingled backstage with many random chinese singers, some boybands, some singaporean - most of which i dont recognise, but oh i really like this sort of things! Oh i miss my taiwan gig photography days!! :(
Today
i saw his fbook status on my newsfeed that he just became a fan of Cheer Chen after seeing her there. oh my gosh oh my gosh :'(. i just missed on telling him who that singer was.. i had my camera that day..
Last dec, i told my sister that i liked cheer chen, and then she asked me to go for the concert this april with her, and i said i canttttt its one week from submission. :( and NOW, i totally totally had a chance to see her.. front row! and i ignorantly rejected. waaaaaatttttttt. omg shes my chinese version of belle and seb! can u imagine me rejecting to watch belle and seb front row?? :( AHH and he said she looked really cute! more tears :'(!!!!
im stressed by interim, but i would really have totally took the time off to see it..
The new album
:'( just before i found out abt this, i was thinking how 2009 has started with good albums from my favourite singers! like YYYs, and Cheer chen's new album, both i really love, and then belle and seb is coming out with a new project soon too.
my favourites in her new album are these 2 - this one & this one below, translated "going to Uk next week", oh the lyrics are so good :(
Dusty the guitar
The week i got Dusty the guitar, i told mdm frou that the reason why i suddenly really wanted to pick it up is becos i really wanted to be able play and sing this song:
i know u havent listened to the cd of her songs that i burnt u though RR!!! :|!!!
