Very guilty pleasure - a grumpy review

500 days of summer soundtrack

None of the tracks very spectacular on its own, some of which the overplayed sort. I even find the voices of regina spektor and feist slightly irritating. Yet so unfortunately well put together that i'm angry at myself for not being able to stop listening to it. What i hate about it most is that scenes of the movie run through my head with each song. Features your darryl hall and john oates btw :X

i just heard on friday that they're in the running for Best Band at the Singapore Hit Awards. Its the first year i've paid attention to this ceremony, in fact i just found out what this award ceremony is actually called. But anyways its quite a big deal since they're up against some quite established groups. I do hope they win, their newest album cheered me up a hell lot during thesis time.

But it is possible they were included just to give the awards some indie cred :((, u know the singapore chinese music scene. (ok actually i don't!)

If I could be anyone in any band ever I would be the tall one in Health. They played in this crap hall near where I live in the Spring. At the end I bought their record. The tall one told me it was £15 - but I only had ten so he gave it me for a tenner. I think he said 'I know times are hard' or something like that. I love the fact that you can play a rocking show and then man your merchandise stall. They were pretty much the most amazing live act I think I've ever seen. I think if I'd ever actually seen at the drive in, they would have been better, but I didn't really 'get them' at the Reading festival in 2000 so I think I went to see Terris instead. What mistake. He dances a bit more like a Singaporean (head down) but in a more exuberant way (arms out)

90s morning

i just realised yesterday that the rapper in my favourite placebo song is from one inch punch - who also sings my favourite song from the R&J soundtrack. Sniggers! i think u probably dislike both! Ok.. but i also really like Local God.. and Angel :D (then i'm quite sure they aren't yr favourites either!)

I have decided i will buy the R&J dvd soon! Do u have it already?

Was flipping wired at dinner just now and i read this..

Anyway i think the whole of yesterday and today, God has tried to bless me with a good day. Despite me feeling like i'm not at my best, many little things that've since happened in the past 2 days have helped to put a smile on my face.. thank you God very much! :)
