This really made me laugh, its the funniest of the Black Hole series. Its probably the most relatable of the lists that they've come up with. The music one is too.. obscure, the web one is too un-daring but i guess its always safer to trash films.
Similar to what they said abt the Matrix, I hope they Never make a sequel to District 9, i'd be pissed if that happens! Not everything is meant to be a trilogy -_-.
And I actually wouldnt mind throwing all comic book movies ever made into the black hole except for Batman Returns. But i'll probably get called unthinkable names if i dare comment that on the wired website. HEHEHE
i just watched District 9 and it was really really good! No movie has ever made me so scared and so melancholic at the same time - its like feeling terrified while in the midst of almost tearing (not the other way round of being scared to tears). And ive never had to cover my eyes in a movie because i was just so sad i couldnt bear to watch anymore.
There are some aspects of the show i dont totally appreciate, like its documentary-style.. or that i read that there was this viral marketing website going on to promote the show (almost relating to that movie Cloverfield, cringe). Some premises of the show might even make u snigger, like how u might in a B-grade movie kind of way. Even the poster doesnt look appealing(!) But woah, it was not b grade at all.
The show disregards any doubts u might have of it- it just sets these premises boldly, continues to develop in its own questionable way and in the end, the story that played out was really satisfying!
The feeling of being upset and nervous at the same time really reminded me of my teenage days watching the Outer Limits. Sci-fi can really do that to people i think :).. i feel so touched that a movie so similar to it has been made! And Star Trek this year was really good too. Theyre both really the best movies of this year!!
