I am convinced that I am blinded by my own 'intellect', that I can no longer see obvious things. I am astounded at how un-simple I am. It is opinions of my own which make me stupid. When we are simple, we are never stupid; we discern all the time.
I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on God's presence, walk by patience, and lift by prayer. Because this I know, that the things of this world will never satisfy, only God can.
All men are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of the Lord stands forever.
- 1 Peter 1: 24
So we don't look at the troubles we can see now;
rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.
For the things we see now will soon be gone,
but the things we cannot see will last forever.
- 2 Corinthians 4: 18
Lately, my life goal has changed - it is not to succeed in design or architecture or art, it is definitely not to become rich. My success shall not be defined by such worldly standards. One of my new immediate goals is to simplify my life. My long term goal is to go to heaven and to bring as many people as I can with me. This is because I love people. I love them not because I want to please God, but because His love for me compels me to do so. Pleasing God therefore comes naturally as a result. It is just impossible to keep such love to yourself once you have experienced it. God loves the world regardless of whether you care about it or not - this is an absolute truth. This is the truth that binds the universe together; this is the truth that makes the sun rise everyday.
Postmodernists deny that objective truth exists. But how can they know that their claim, ‘truth does not exist’, is true if there is no such thing as ‘truth’? So postmodernism is self-refuting: its absolute truth is that there is no absolute truth; its absolute ethic is that all ethics are relative; and its objective worldview is that all worldviews are subjective. In postmodernism, gravity does not exist as an objective reality. So someone operating under a different ‘meta-narrative’ (worldview) where gravity did not exist might walk off a cliff and not kill themselves. But no matter what they believe, they will hurt themselves.
